    HI Kathy,

I relate to the opening comments of your blog to a certain extent. However, I am in a different position. I kind of would love for them to fire me but I am in a quandary because I am one of their top performers. God knows they've tried to make my life difficult, but they haven't been able to build a case to fire me for the past 14 months, since I started making waves with a written complaint about the abusive behavior of my supervisor.
On the other hand, while I like most of my job, I am unhappy with the lame, mediocre management and unfair working conditions. In fact, I have filed a second complaint for racial remarks against another co worker.
So at this point they possibly feel firing me is not an option unless they can build a case against me .. but they are lame I dont think they can even do that.

Bottom line, I have a vision for my life which doesn't include to work in a place like this but going into working on my writing and publishing my work (has nothing to do with my current line of work) but ... I am afraid to quit and then realize I made a big booboo. After all I do make 6 figures.

I'd be interested to hear what you have to say.

      Hi Andrea,

Well it sounds like you are definitely in one of those tough, frustrating and potentially life changing spots. Twenty years ago I would have said you probably need to wish for something else because no company would ever fire a top performer. But it's certainly a new day in the business world. You don't indicate how long you've been in this position and with the company, so I would need quite a bit more background before I can offer too much insight. Feel free to reach out to me via my email On an exciting note, keep chasing those dreams and building your writing skill set/clients...not only for your personal satisfaction but also so you're ready to replace that six figure income if/when they do decide it's time to replace you. 🙂
